The event, held at Field Bishnu Rabha Rangamancha, transformed the skies into colors of hope, evoking cherished childhood memories among participants and spectators alike.

Organized by the Dibrugarh University Postgraduate Students’ Union (DUPGSU) 2024-25, under the guidance of Social Service Secretary Khamiranjan Bhuyan, the competition aimed to revive the cultural significance of kite-flying associated with the Phagun season.
Esteemed judges, including Dr. Minakshi Puzari (Assistant Professor, Department of Life Sciences) and Mr. Amar Bikash Changmai (Pharmacist, Health Centre), ensured fair and enthusiastic participation. Students from various departments showcased their creativity and skill, with the Department of Physics winning the ‘Most Beautiful Kite’ award.
In the flying competition The Pherm Science Department of the Dibrugarh University secured 1st Position, Institute of Engineering and Technology (DUIET) secured 2nd place, followed by the Department of Commerce in 3rd place. The event fostered a sense of unity and nostalgia, allowing participants to relive fond memories while embracing the essence of (harmony and unity). Special recognition goes to Mr. Hari Prasad Gohain, whose energetic hosting added charm and kept the audience engaged.
Beyond the excitement, the competition promoted cultural appreciation, teamwork, and stress relief among students. It highlighted the joy found in simple traditions and strengthened the bonds within the university community. Organizers expressed gratitude to all contributors and hope to establish the kite-flying competition as a cherished annual tradition at Dibrugarh University.
