Guwahati: College Student Dies After Jumping Off from First Floor of College Building in Geeta Nagar

GUWAHATI: In a tragic incident that has shocked the community, a 19-year-old student from Kanya Mahavidyalaya in Geeta Nagar, Guwahati, took her own life on the college premises.

The young girl, identified as Sandipshna Raj, was a first-semester student studying BA English major and she lived in Silpukhuri.

According to reports, Sandipshna had left her house at about 8:30 AM to attend her classes. She then went to the college and, in a tragic turn of event, jumped from the first floor of the building. She was immediately given medical attention and was taken to Guwahati Medical College Hospital (GMCH), where she was declared dead by medical staff.

The move has put the students and teachers in deep shock, prompting the college administration and local police to open an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. So far, the reason behind Sandipshna taking the extreme step of ending her life is yet to be determined.
